"Fall"ing in love with this time of year

September 1st in the Rodgers household means fall. It doesn't matter that here in the South we will have "summer" up until November (and even past then), fall is all a state of mind.

In my mind this involves:

  • Pumpkins, apples, cider, pies, and soups

  • Hallmark Fall Harvest (check out all their new premieres starting September 19th) including my favorite repeats: Pumpkin Pie Wars, Falling for Vermont, All of My Heart -The Wedding-, October Kiss, Under the Autumn Moon (and so many others!)

  • Themed decor. A string of lit leaves, a couple knickknacks, LED timer candles, and all of a sudden your mantle or entry way table is telling a story and giving your house an instant cozy feel.

  • Christmas carols. Yup. You read that right. Now, don't get me wrong, I am all about Fall but I also love listening to carols for four months out of the year (check out my playlist!)

And isn't that why this time of year is so wonderful? Cinnamon and nutmeg everything, the world covered in a glow of gold and red, and coziness around every corner. So grab your scarf, pull out that adorable sweater that has been tucked away in a pile in your closet, heat up a cup of apple cider (Trader Joes has a great one!) and let yourself "fall" into the season.
