Hello all! I hope that if you have found yourself in this section that you are looking for a book to read!
If I listed my favorite books, the list would go on for pages, so instead, I'm going to list what I am in the process of reading! Let me know if you have read any of them or are in the process and we can compare notes!
Happy reading!

A Song of Wraiths And Ruin

Roseanne A. Brown

I really enjoyed this novel. I tend to categorize books into "Quick Reads" and books that I need to read in the quiet because they are so rich in details and plot that they take you away into another world and I don't want to miss one detail. That is this book. I feel like I am transported into the world of Ziran, running with Malik and Karina throughout the Solstasia and the palace. I can't wait for Book 2 to come out!

Hood

Jenny Elder Moke

Yes! Just yes! This is a great, fun read that will have its audience wanting to grab the nearest pair of Hunter green hose and become part of the Merry Men! Told from Robin Hood and Marien's sixteen-year-old daughter's point of view, Moke takes her readers through an adventure that starts on page one and continues on til the end. I only hope there are more book and this becomes a series!

The Hate U Give

Angie Thomas

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas is a story told from the viewpoint of sixteen-year-old Starr. On her way home from a party, Starr witnesses her friend get shot by a police officer, even though he was unarmed. Starr was the only witness. The topic of Thomas' novel is so relative to today that it hurts. It made me think and see topics from different perspectives and it is certainly a read I would recommend.

A Very Large Expanse of the Sea

Tahereh Mafi

This novel follows the life of a sixteen year old girl. Shirin, who is Muslim, going to high school after 9-11. Mafi does an amazing job of writing in such depth and detail that every one of my senses, emotions, and nerve endings were heightened. I loved the strong character leads and how Mafi created a story that I could not put down.

A Discovery of Witches

Deborah Harkness

For anyone who has read Twilight and loved it, or for those who just love a good forbidden romance (Romeo and Juliet, Vampire and human, Vampire and Witch), mixed with lots of history and a full tour of Oxford, this is the book for you! I’m only 1/2 way through Book 1 (I’m googling a lot but I now know about Oxford colleges, various antique rugs and furniture, a spattering about alchemy, and a smidge of French!) and I am hooked!! Can’t wait to finish this one and read the rest! I’ll keep y’all posted!!!
